Apparently, some faculty took their children to trick-or-treat around the dorms instead of going through the neighborhoods.
The thinking was that it would be safer and allow the students to build a relationship with the community. Everything went off without a hitch and everyone enjoyed the experience.
However, I can’t help but wonder how those kids made out in the candy department. I remember when I lived on campus, snacks were a precious commodity. One guarded their stash with a voraciousness usually ascribed to Tasmanian Devils. Fingers were lost in altercations. Was it merely the innocence of a child was all that was needed to pry food away from the misers I associated with?
