I've never been a big fan of paying for enchantments on my equipment. If it weren't for Tisch giving me all my upgrades for free, I'd probably be more of a laughing-stock than I already am.

I recently checked back in on my old buddy Marco (for those unfamiliar with my alter egos, Marco was my first Paladin on Laughing Skull, then came my kick-ass Rogue, Elks, on Eldre'Thalas, plus a few other alts that don't really have any stories to tell). I checked his equipment and was embarrassed by what I saw.

On Elks, I have almost every piece of the Shadowcraft armor set plus more blue weapons than I could ever make full use of. Then there's Marco. Poor, poor, Marco. He managed to get to level 60, but with all level 45-50 gear. Not even good stuff bought from the auction house. Crappy pieces of junk that were given as quest rewards.

It's not as if I didn't have the money to buy him better armor. As a Paladin, the money that normally would have gone to purchasing a mount could be splurged on shiny pieces of battle gear. I just didn't see the point. Sort of like Pentagon officials with up-armored humvees.

It's probably due to the fact that I either soloed or partied with Stormi all the time. If you are thinking of starting a new character and don't really like the idea of other people cramping your l33tness, I highly suggest rolling a pally. Swing, hit, heal, rinse, repeat; that's all you have to do to get to 60 with the quickness. Should be enough to satisfy even the most compulsive of those OCD types.
